Home and analytics
Read Home's health strip, setup checklist, and tiles, then the Analytics page. From comment to lead, comparisons with the previous period, Today in your time zone, and the weekly summary.
Home is the action center for one Instagram account: is it healthy, is setup done, and how many DMs went out. Analytics is the report, with a date range, the path from comment to lead, and a daily chart.
A send on these screens is a successful final offer DM. Welcome messages, follow prompts, lead questions, and retries do not count. See Plans and meters.
Your first page
What opens after you sign in depends on how many Instagram accounts your login has:
- None: Connect Instagram. See Connect Instagram.
- One: that account's Home.
- Two or more: All accounts, with a card per account. See Several Instagram accounts.
Account Home
Choose Home at the top of the sidebar. The header shows Home, the @handle, your plan (it links to the plans), Customize, and New automation.
From top to bottom:
- Alerts when something needs you, such as Payment past due, Active automation limit reached, or a DM limit alert.
- Health strip.
- Setup checklist, until you finish or hide it.
- Tiles.
- Automations, the list of this account's automations.
Health strip
Four parts that answer "is this account working?". They refresh every minute while Home is open, and soon after each new comment.
| Part | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Connected (Ready for new comments.), Reconnect needed with a Reconnect button, or Paused. A paused account says to turn it back on from the Instagram account page. | |
| Automations | How many are on, like 3 of 10 on, and how many are off. Choose it to open Automations. |
| Sending | Normal, Busy (replies are queued and go out shortly), or Paused (Instagram asked for a short break). Nothing is lost in either case. It reads Stopped while Instagram needs a reconnect or the account is paused. |
| Last DM | When the last DM went out, and when the last comment came in. |
When sending is on hold for your whole login, Instagram reads Paused with View billing.
Setup checklist
Get your first DM out walks a new account to its first delivered DM, with a count like 2 of 4 done:
The next step to do has the main button. When the first DM arrives while Home is open, a toast says Your first DM was delivered. with See activity. The checklist then reads You are all set, with Hide.
Hide checklist removes it for this account. The toast Checklist hidden. offers Undo.
Tiles
Home has two groups of tiles:
- Usage: for example Automations on and DMs sent this cycle, plus Contacts captured, Templates created, Paused automations, and Upcoming scheduled.
- Last 30 days: Matched comments, DMs sent, Failed sends, Link clicks, and New contacts.
The Last 30 days tiles show a change line against the 30 days before, like Up 12% from the previous 30 days. For Failed sends, down is good.
Choose Customize to hide, add, or reorder tiles, then Save layout. In the Shopify app, Home can also show Attributed orders and Unused offer codes.
If the account shows Reconnect needed, fix that on the Instagram account page before you trust new matches.
Analytics page
In the sidebar under Insights, choose Analytics. The header has Customize and the range: Today, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or All time. The default is 30 days.
From top to bottom:
- Weekly summary of last week. See Weekly summary below.
- From comment to lead (From comment to order in the Shopify app).
- Tiles for This range (Comments received, Comments matched, DMs delivered, Failed sends, Leads, Links opened) and All time.
- Daily activity: Matched, Delivered, Failed, and Links opened per day. Show daily numbers opens the same data as a table. Today shows the day's totals. All time plots the last 90 days.
- Where conversations start: matched comments, story replies, live comments, DMs, shared posts, and taps on your Ice Breakers or menu.
- Top automations, ranked by DMs delivered in the range.
From comment to lead
This card follows people step by step, with an arrow between each step:
Commented, then Used keyword, then Got your DM, then Opened link, then Shared details.
In the Shopify app the card is From comment to order and ends with Ordered.
- Each step shows its number, its change against the previous period, and a rate. Used keyword is a share of comments. Got your DM is a share of those who used your keyword. Opened link and Shared details are shares of those who got your DM.
- A plain sentence on top reads it out, for example: Of 2 comments, 1 used your keyword and got your DM. Nobody opened the link yet.
- What these numbers mean explains each step.
Compared with the previous period
The line under each card title names the window and what it is compared with, like Last 30 days, compared with the previous 30 days.
| Range | Compared with |
|---|---|
| Today | Yesterday, up to the same time of day |
| 7 days | The 7 days right before |
| 30 days | The 30 days right before |
| 90 days, All time | No comparison for this range |
A change shows as an arrow and a percent, like Up 12% from the previous 30 days. New this period means there was nothing in the period before.
Today and your time zone
Today starts at midnight in your time zone, the one your browser uses. The card reads Since midnight, compared with yesterday at this time. The bars in Daily activity are your local calendar days too.
7 days, 30 days, and 90 days are rolling windows that end now, so a total can differ slightly from the sum of the daily bars.
Weekly summary
Analytics opens with a short summary of last week, Monday to Sunday (UTC), written from this account's own numbers. It does not change with the range. It shows up after a week with 20 or more comments and messages. See Weekly summary and missed requests.
How this relates to Activity and Events
Home and Analytics are totals. To see each comment and what happened to it, open Activity, or look up one person with Why didn't they get a DM? For one automation, open it and choose All events.
Comment and DM logs are kept about 90 days.
