AI writing help
Write, Rewrite, Suggest keywords, Suggest replies, and Suggest a call to action in the automation builder. Every plan, on the website and in the Shopify app. Nothing is used until you pick it.
AI writing help offers text while you build an automation. It only shows ideas for you to pick. Nothing goes into a field, gets saved, or is sent until you click.
Plans: every plan, on the website dashboard and in the Shopify app. Your text is not sent to outside AI companies.
Where the buttons are
You find them in New automation, Edit automation, and when you publish with New post or Schedule.
| Button | Where | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Write and Rewrite | At the end of the label row of DM text, Caption (photo, video, or file DMs), Welcome message, Follow prompt, Follow nudge, Name ask, Email ask, Email retry, Phone ask, Phone retry, and Follow-up message. In the Shopify app also on the offer messages, like Offer email ask. | Versions of that text in four styles |
| Suggest keywords | Under the keyword field on the Keywords step | Keyword ideas to add |
| Suggest replies | Under the public reply list on the Keywords step (post and Reel automations) | Up to 4 short public replies |
| Suggest a call to action | Under the Caption when you publish a post with a keyword DM, and in Caption call to action on the Keywords step | Up to 3 caption lines that ask people to comment your keyword |
Write
Write drafts new text for a field, even when the field is empty.
Write only uses links, @handles, prices, numbers, and codes that already appear in your instruction or in the automation. It never makes up an offer, a price, or a deadline.
If you change the instruction after the versions were written, the panel says Your instruction changed. Press Write for new versions.
Rewrite
Rewrite reworks the text that is already in the field. With an empty field the button explains: Write something first, or use Write to draft it.
Every Rewrite version:
- Keeps every link, price, code, @handle, hashtag, and
{placeholder}exactly as you wrote it, and adds none. - Uses no dashes.
- Fits the field's character limit.
- Stays in your language. Hinglish stays Hinglish.
How the panel works
- Four styles at once: Closest, Shorter, Friendlier, and More professional. Each style shows up to 4 versions and a count. A small spinner shows until its first version arrives.
- Versions appear as they are written. The bottom of the panel says Writing versions, then for example 12 versions ready.
- Use this replaces the text in the field and closes the panel. A toast such as DM text updated. offers Undo. The version that is in the field shows In use.
- Length: each version shows its length, like 120 of 640 characters. A version longer than the field allows cannot be used.
- Reopening shows the same versions. Closing the panel, or moving to another step and back, does not ask again. The versions stay until you reload the page.
- New versions: in Rewrite, choose Generate again. In Write, press Write again. If one style came back empty, its Try again asks for that style only.
- Changed text: if you edit the field after the versions were written, the panel says Your text changed after these were written.
- Close it with Close, Escape, or a click outside the panel.
Suggest keywords
Keywords your caption already asks for, like "comment LINK", come first. You get up to 8 ideas, and keywords already in your list are left out. While the automation has no name, a Name idea with Use as name can show too. Hide suggestions clears the list.
Suggest replies
For post and Reel automations, choose Suggest replies under the public reply list. You get up to 4 short replies, such as "Sent to your DMs!", with no links or @handles. Choose one to add it to your list.
Suggest a call to action
When you publish a post or Reel with a keyword DM, Suggest a call to action under the Caption writes up to 3 short lines that ask people to comment your keyword. Each line contains the keyword.
The same button sits in Caption call to action on the Keywords step, since that is where you set the keyword. With Send DM to all comments there is no keyword to ask for, so the button stays off.
What it never does
- It never fills a field, saves, publishes, or sends a DM on its own. You always pick.
- Rewrite never changes a link, price, code, @handle, hashtag, or
{placeholder}. - It does not reply to people in your inbox. It only helps you write the automation's text.
Fair use
- Each login can use AI writing help 20 times a minute and 300 times a day, across all its Instagram accounts. One click on Write, Rewrite, Generate again, Try again, or a Suggest button is one use.
- The daily count resets at midnight UTC.
- When you reach a limit, the AI buttons pause and a note says when they come back, for example You have used today's AI help. It resets at midnight UTC.
- When AI help is busy for a moment, the buttons pause on their own, for example AI helpers are busy. Try again in 30 seconds.
- If no suggestion passes the checks, an error titled No suggestions this time asks you to try again or write your own.
- If AI help is not available, the buttons are hidden and you can keep writing your own text.
