# Schedule posts (/docs/schedule-posts)



Every plan can publish from the dashboard. Scheduling for later needs **Growth or higher**. Free and Starter see Post now only on this plan.

## Before you publish [#before-you-publish]

You need the Content publish permission from Instagram Login. If it is missing: Publish permission needed. Reconnect Instagram in Manage to grant content publish, then schedule from here.

Daily Instagram publish limit: **25** publishes in 24 hours. Error: Daily Instagram publish limit reached (25).

## Open compose [#open-compose]

From Automations:

* New post opens compose and treats the keyword DM as part of the flow.
* Calendar opens Schedules.

From Schedules: title Schedules. Lede: Plan posts, reels, and stories on a calendar. Optionally attach a keyword DM. Buttons: Schedule, Today, Schedule for this day.

## Post now [#post-now]

    Add media and a caption. Post carousel: up to 10 items. Story images: up to 8MB. Story video (mp4 or mov): up to 300MB. Caption on a job edit: max 2200.

    Under When, keep Post now (Publish as soon as this is ready). Stories use Share now.

    On an Automations compose, set the keyword DM (on by default). On Schedules, Attach keyword DM starts

## Schedule for later (Growth+) [#schedule-for-later-growth]

    Use Growth, Pro, or Scale. Free and Starter stay on Post now. The Schedule option is labeled Growth and above.

    Under When, choose Schedule (Pick a date and time).
  </Step>

    The first click prefills

    Pick a time 

    **at least one minute from now**

    . Error: Pick a schedule time at least one minute from now.

    Optionally turn on Attach keyword DM. Panel: Keyword DM. Optional. Send a private reply when people engage after publish.

    Choose Schedule. The calendar shows the job. A chip can read · DM attached.

## Change or cancel a job [#change-or-cancel-a-job]

Only jobs in **scheduled** can be edited or cancelled.

    Open the job from the calendar. Choose Edit.

    Change the time or Keep keyword DM after publish (Turn off to publish content only).
  </Step>

    To drop it, choose Cancel. Confirm Cancel scheduled post? Buttons: Cancel post, Keep scheduled.

Cancelled jobs leave the day list.

## Job states [#job-states]

| State      | Meaning                             |
| ---------- | ----------------------------------- |
| scheduled  | Waiting for the time you picked     |
| queued     | Picked up, not publishing yet       |
| publishing | Sending to Instagram                |
| published  | Live                                |
| failed     | Instagram or the worker rejected it |
| cancelled  | You cancelled before publish        |
