# Manage Instagram (/docs/manage-instagram)



Manage is where you pause, reconnect, or disconnect one Instagram account. Title: Manage. Description: Pause, reconnect, or disconnect this Instagram account.

Pause, disconnect, cancel plan, and delete your login are **four different actions**. See [Data and deletion](/docs/data-and-deletion).

## Switch accounts [#switch-accounts]

Use the account switcher in the sidebar or header. Each card can show:

| Chip            | Meaning                           | Uses a plan slot |
| --------------- | --------------------------------- | ---------------- |
| Connected       | Session is valid                  | Yes              |
| Needs reconnect | Instagram invalidated the session | Yes              |
| Paused          | You paused it. Tokens stay.       | No               |

If every usable account is gone, Home is the workspace view with Connect your Instagram.

## Add another Instagram [#add-another-instagram]

    Choose Connect Instagram or Connect account.

    Finish official Instagram Login for a 

    **different**

     Business or Creator profile.

One Instagram identity can belong to only one login (website or Shopify). Details: [Connect Instagram](/docs/connect-instagram).

## Pause (frees a slot, keeps tokens) [#pause-frees-a-slot-keeps-tokens]

Pause stops event processing and turns off automations on this account. Tokens stay connected. Nothing is deleted. The subscription is unchanged. The slot frees so you can connect or re-enable another account.

    Open Manage for that Instagram.

    Under Actions, choose Pause.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Confirm Pause Instagram account? Read the body. It states tokens stay, nothing is deleted, and the subscription is unchanged.

    Choose Pause account. Keep active cancels.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Status becomes Paused. You may see Paused (plan limit) if you paused to stay inside the slot cap.

To resume: Re-enable account. If you are over the slot cap, enable fails until you pause another account or [upgrade](/docs/change-or-cancel).

## Needs reconnect [#needs-reconnect]

After a password change or a security update, Instagram can invalidate the session. Automations pause until you reconnect.

Alert title: Reconnect Instagram required. Manage copy: Instagram invalidated this session. Reconnect and select that same @username in Meta. Do not pick a different Instagram account.

Home banner example: that @username needs to be reconnected. Instagram may have invalidated the session after a password change or a security update. Automations pause until you reconnect.

    Choose Reconnect Instagram, Reconnect, or Open Manage then Reconnect.

    In Meta, pick the 

    **same**

     @username.
  </Step>

    Approve the four permissions again.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Wrong profile: Meta authorized a different Instagram account than the one you are reconnecting. Pick the same @username in Instagram and try again.

## Disconnect (type DISCONNECT) [#disconnect-type-disconnect]

Disconnect deletes this Instagram's tokens, automations, logs, templates, and media. &#x2A;*It does not cancel your Send Link To Me subscription.** You must rebuild automations if you connect again.

    On Manage, open Danger zone.

    Choose Disconnect, then Disconnect and delete data.
  </Step>

    Confirm Disconnect Instagram?
  </Step>

  <Step>
    In Type DISCONNECT to confirm, type 

    `DISCONNECT`

     in that exact case.

  <Step>
    Submit. You return to the workspace Home. Keep account cancels.
  </Step>

  DISCONNECT is only for this Instagram row. It is not pause, not cancel plan, and not delete login. Manage the plan from Open Billing. Delete the whole login by email. See [Data and deletion](/docs/data-and-deletion).
